Heavy snow fell on Al-tay in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Sunday. The local weather bureau has issued a severe weather alert.

 

Transportation in Al-tay city has been seriously affected. The local government recommends residents stay at home. Weathermen from the Altay Meteorological Station say the temperature will drop by 15 degree Celsius in three days with heavy winds and blizzard conditions.

Local authorities have taken measures to ensure adequate power supplies in order to heat homes.
