Scientists have warned of a possible hazardous eruption of the Philippines' Mayon volcano in the coming weeks. The volcano has recorded 10 ash eruptions since Thursday.
Mayon continues to shoot ash plumes and spill lava. Two lava domes have formed from rising magma inside its crater, which could swell and plug the opening leading to an eruption. Security forces on Friday evacuated about 3-thousand residents from the danger zone. Authorities have cordoned off an eight-kilometer radius surrounding the 25-hundred meter high volcano.
