Dense fog enveloped many parts of China, reducing visibility in some provinces. Meteorologists say the current conditions will last until Thursday.
Affected areas include Southern China and the central and southern part of Northern China. Beijing has seen 7 consecutive days of foggy weather, which is the most in 40 years. 10 expressways leading to Shanghai city and Hongqiao airport were temporarily closed in the morning.
In the most-seriously affected areas in Shandong province, visibility was limited to just a few meters. The National Meteorological center is forecasting that a strong cold front from the northwest will soon alleviate the situation.
