Nongfu Spring, China's leading producer of beverages and bottled water says it has been cleared by the national quality watchdog of charges concerning high-levels of arsenic in its products.
At a press conference on Monday, the company questioned safety inspection administration in Haikou, in southern Hainan province implying that accusations were a result of unfair "manipulation".
Last month, the Haikou Industrial and Commercial Administrative Bureau issued a caution, warning that Nongfu Spring's 30 percent mixed vegetable and fruit juice as well as its C-100 grapefruit juice contained arsenic in excess of allowable standards. But Nongfu now says it's got the all-clear from a report by the Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in Beijing.
