China, Australia to boost cooperation

Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang has met with Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and other Australian officials to discuss the development of relations between their two countries and issues of common concern.

During the meeting with Kevin Rudd in Canberra, Li Keqiang said a healthy and stable China-Australia relationship is beneficial to the core interests of both sides. He said it will help promote stability and prosperity in the region and the world.

The Chinese vice premier said both nations need to adhere to a strategic and long-term perspective to deal with bilateral ties.

Li said China hopes Australia will always stick to an open and non-discriminatory policy towards Chinese investments in Australia.
