A National Day evening gala rehearsal concluded at Beijing's Tian'anmen Square in the early hours of Sunday morning. The rehearsal featured fireworks, a performance and a laser light show for the 60th anniversary celebration of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

"This is my beautiful motherland, where I have grown up" unveils the massive National Day gala rehearsal in downtown Beijing.

The burst of patriotic fervor shattered the quiet of the night.

57-thousand performers participated in the two-hour rehearsal.

The show was composed of 12 parts including the center stage, "ray cube" performance and a dancing display from all walks of life.

A huge fireworks display was the highlight.

A range of colorful fireworks complimented the various themes of the gala.

The rehearsal was a tune-up for performances, organization, logistics, and operation work.

The organizers say the rehearsal was successful and expressed their gratitude to Beijing residents for their support.
