The Summer Davos 2009 kicks off on Thursday. With one of the Summit's themes being green economy, China-made green cars used at the meeting attract participants' attention.
All 257 vehicles serving the meeting are energy-saving or new energy automobiles. 207 of those have been designed in China. The hybrid-engine cars use 10 to 40 percent less fuel than traditional cars.
At the meeting, electric-engine buses transporting world policy makers also make their debut. The vehicles release zero emissions. They costs 2.8 million yuan, and can only be used for eight years, the automaker says it still saves money.
Xu Yingchun, Anhui Ankai Automobile Co. Ltd, said, "The annual electric charge for this coach is about 8,000 yuan, and the annual fuel cost for a traditional bus is about 200 thousand yuan. So for an eight-year service period, the money you save can buy another electric bus."
After the three-day meeting, all the buses will be put into commercial use.
