National Day is still a month away, but the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is already in a celebratory mood. Friday night, a gala was held at the Hong Kong Exhibition Center.

Vice Chairperson of the NPC Standing Committee Chen Zhili, Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang's wife, Salina as well as other dignitaries from Hong Kong and the mainland, attended the gala.

In her address, Chen Zhili greeted more than 2000 guests in Mandarin, Cantonese, Shanghai and Fujian dialects as well as English.

As the chairwoman of the All China Women's Federation, Chen expressed special thanks to women from all sectors in Hong Kong for their contributions to the SAR and the nation.

The gala was organized by 154 women's societies in Hong Kong. Outstanding female representatives from Hong Kong's political, business, education and art circles performed at the gala.
