A walk in robot suits in Tokyo
Adjust font size:

Three people have enjoyed an unusual stroll in Tokyo's busy city center. They were wearing robot suits, which are said to be able to improve physical capacity.

The suits were developed by Japanese robotics company Cyberdyne. It says the "hybrid assistive limb suits" will help the injured and weak to get around. The suit also increases users' ability to carry heavy objects. The average walking speed wearing the suit is 1.8 kilometers per hour. The company began renting out the suits last October for the equivalent of 22-hundred US dollars a month.
