"PTU2" fails to continue most of To's style. That To wears the producer's hat this time may explain the fact that the visual effect is far less compelling than in the original. The storyline has also lost the strong sense of black humor featured in the first. And the ending is not so surprising.

It could easily be a Johnnie To movie, but it is not.
