2009 marks the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the US and China. Few would imagine that the bilateral ties would go through so many dramatic zigzags 30 years ago. The two governments decided not to antagonize each other as they did in the Cold War. The outgoing president Mr. George W. Bush said that US-China relations have become the most important bilateral relationship in the 21st century.
China makes it clear that the financial crisis, climate change and proliferation of weapons of massive destruction would be the common threat for the two sides to fight jointly.
