Sun Baochuan's collection

Sun said, "I have my choices in collecting. For instance, I collect Olympic theme key chains. Those chains reflect a century of development of the Olympic Games."

Sun's collection surely is not valuable. But to him, the key chains contain his special memories.

Sun said, "I'm not looking forward to increasing the value of my collection but to upgrade my life's energy. I call my collection stereo-stamps because the collection is all about culture and history. I recall many memories when I see those key chains."

As a veteran reporter for Xinhua News Agency, Sun has been collecting for over 30 years. He bought his first key chain in 1975 during his first overseas visit. And Olympic Games theme key chains are just one of the categories in his collection.

Sun said, "I began to collect Olympic key chains in 1984 when China made the gold-medal breakthrough at the Los Angeles Olympic Games. My colleague went to report on the Games and brought back the key chain for me. So far I have over 700 Olympic key chains covering each of the games'."

Sun Baochuan wants more people to know about his collection. The Beijing Olympics brought global attention to China. Now Sun is determined to write a book about his collection. And he plans to keep collecting.
