The ancient town of Zhaohua, located in the northeastern part of Sichuan, will host a Three Kingdoms Tourism Festival.

Xinhua county in Hunan province is the birth place of the ancient Meishan culture that's known for its farming, fishing and the merging of several ethnic groups. Tourists can see the terrace method of farming passed down over the generations, and a huge gingkgo tree, thirty meters in height and eight meters in circumference. The forest here dates back one thousand six hundred years. During the night, guests can mingle with local ethnic groups to sing and dance. Xinhua also boasts a limestone cave formed over a period of ten thousand years.

Qingcheng Mountain located near Dujiangyan in Sichuan province will reopen during the National Day holiday after closing for months because of the earthquake. The area hopes to attract tourists with a series of activities showcasing the local culture.

The ancient town of Zhaohua, located in the northeastern part of Sichuan, will host a Three Kingdoms Tourism Festival. Zhaohua was an important center of strategic importance during the Three Kingdoms period, which was around two hundred AD. Several well-known battles took place there. For those interested in Shu culture and stories about the Three Kingdoms, Zhaohua is a good choice.
