Basso & Brooke Spring 2009 collection in London Fashion Week
|
2004 Fringe Fashion winners, Basso & Brooke are renowned for their use of color and vibrant prints, and this show delivered just that. Symmetrical patterns, classic dress shapes and a mixing of colors played a big part. The collection also featured bright colored silk dresses all worn with sharp cut rectangle belts.
Up-and-coming British designer Henry Holland's much-anticipated show was fronted by friend and model-of-the-moment Agyness Deyn. Deyn opened the show with a polka dot top and high waisted floral print trousers, and later appeared in large bulb-shaped skirt.
The show was light and airy with lots of chiffon and big floral prints. Polka dots were also featured on cycling shorts, with cut outs at the thigh worn underneath. The new generation designer is the toast of fashion at the moment, with his cutting edge take on street-wise party wear.
The show also included mens wear, with models sporting blazers made from opaque floaty fabrics printed in red and blue florals.
London Fashion Week continues over the next two days, with anticipated collections from Erdem, Vivenne Westwood and Margaret Howell.
