Eason Chan was in Beijing on Wednesday, helping promote the shopping bags. During the gathering winner of the "New Design for Shopping Bags Competition" was announced.
Chan sang two tracks from his new album, which by the way marks the eleventh of his musical career. "Don't Want to Let Go" contains 12 tracks. The producer is Jim Lee, the man behind many award-winning albums over the last 20 years.
A highlight of the album is the cover design and illustration. Famed Hong Kong illustrator Stella So contributed her talents.
Eason Chan said, "I wanted to promote the concept of environmental protection with my new songs. I hope people will use these shopping bags instead of the plastic ones."
Chan is also in the capital, gearing up for his first solo concert in Beijing. One of the gifts from his fans was an Erhu, the two-stringed traditional instrument. Fans anticipate hearing Chan give an Erhu performance at his coming concert.
