Chinese athlete Wu Chunmiao won gold at Tuesday's T-11 women's 100-meter dash at the Paralympics.

Wu Chunmiao attended the women's 200 meter dash at the Athens Paralympics in 2004. The man besides Wu is her guide Manlin.

Wu Chunmiao,Chinese paralympian,said,"Guides are very important for blind runners. If we don't cooperate well, I will run more than other athletes during the 200-meter dash. He has to watch the track so that I can avoid running into other people's tracks. He has to tell me where we are. He plays a very important role."

With her guide's help, Wu Chunmiao was able to claim the title in 2004.

But a problem arose when Manlin could no longer be her guide.

Wu Chunmiao,Chinese paralympian,said,"I was very happy when Li Jiayu came along to be my guide. Because the guide can practice with me. My speed and my fitness got better."

With Li Jiayu's help, Wu Chunmiao has repeated her glory at the Beijing Paralympics.

Only one person may stand on the podium, but it often takes more than one to make it possible.
