The Ministry of Agriculture has released a plan detailing what farm products should be in focus through the year 2015. The report was released in Beijing on Wednesday.

The ministry says 16 kinds of farm products will be priorities, including rice, cotton, natural rubber and beef, over the next 8 years. Also, 58 regions around the country have been identified and categorized based on their comparative advantages in terms of the agricultural products they produce.

This new report aims to help improve the performance of agricultural areas within each region,to raise supply capabilities and the safety of farm products, and to modernize the overall agricultural system.
