China is adding a fourth space centre continuing to advance its ever expanding role in space.

The Hainan Provincial Government and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation will join hands in the construction of an ancillary area around the new center.
An official signing ceremony bringing together leaders of the participating entities was held in Hong Kong. The ancillary area, located outside Wenchang city, will provide service facilities for scientists. The area is also to serve as the first tourism and education centre associated with a Chinese space center.
About seven billion yuan, or some 100 million U.S. dollars are invested in the project. Completion is expected in 2015.
