Q2. Today and tomorrow, what is the weather like in Beijing and the other 6 cities hosting the Olympic Events?

A1: Unlike the shooting events we've seen so far, Trap is an outdoor shooting event, which means it's more susceptible to influence by the weather.

Wind and rain can both change the direction of the clay disc that's used in the sport, with wind being one of the most important variables which caninfluence the event. Wind direction is also critical as it can lengthen the distance the clay target travels if they're both going in the same direction, or shorten it, if blowing against. Another thing the competitions will have to monitor carefully is visibility, and if visibility drops below 500 meters, then the match can be postponed.

A2: Well, today we're forecasting relatively heavy rain in Beijing, and along with that rain we're expecting temps to drop down below 30, which could make this the coolest day so far this August. That rain will continue into tomorrow, but it should be much lighter, dying down gradually by tomorrow evening.

More relatively heavy rainfall across in Tianjin today and tomorrow, and like Beijing, we should see temps below 30 degrees. Over in Qinhuangdao we're expecting more rain there, too, and again, highs will hover below 30 making it feel quite cool up there, and tomorrow, we're expecting rainfall to increase. As for Shenyang, skies should be cloudy for the most part there today, although by tomorrow we are expecting some rain and temps of around 30.

Over in Qingdao we should see overcast skies and relatively strong winds, with rainfall forecast there tomorrow.

Down to Shanghai now, where there some light rainfall on the way there today and tomorrow, and temps should push up over 30 and finally, down inHong Kong where there's more heavy rainfall forecast today and tomorrow, and days highs of around 30 degrees.
