China's Anti-Doping Agency has grown into one of the world's biggest doping inspection institutions. With the Olympic Games less than 2 weeks away, the agency is attracting a lot more worldwide attention.
41 testers are dispersed throughout the Olympic Village. Urine testing will also occur during the Olympic Games. All the testers working here have gone through strict training to keep quality control in line with the international standards.
To ensure a clean Olympic team, China has performed over 6,000 doping tests on its athletes with 85 percent of them being out-of-competition tests completed by the end of June. The fight against doping in China has extended beyond the realm of sports, with the government issuing an anti-doping law in March 2004.
China has also launched several special investigations into performance-enhancing drugs over the past two years to crack down on doping.
