Most villages recommend staying in hotels outside of the villages or in counties that are not very far from the villages. Most hotels provide basic amenities:

1) air-conditioner, telephone, refrigerator in room

2) private bathroom with 24-hour hot water and laundry service

3) bed(s), closet, ceiling lights, bedside lamps

4) water boiler for drinking water

5) round-the-clock room service

6) restaurant(s)

For the more adventurous traveler, you may choose to stay in a folk house instead. Most folk houses provide clean rooms and bathing facilities for about 10-50 yuan a night. Prices can be negotiated and some also provide cooked meals for just a bit more. Staying in a folk house is a nice choice if you want to taste the local cuisine and get a feel the local culture.
