Located at Dongshan Town and built in the South Song Dynasty, Luxiang Village is the highest quality and best preserved village around Lake Tai. Famous for its old constructions, it has more than 30 structures built during the Ming Dynasty. It is also the hometown Wang Ao, prime minister of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Wang Ao is represented by the gateways of Xieyuan, Huiyuan (first place in metropolitan exams), and Tanhua (third place in imperial examinations), which still stand firmly, giving Luxiang Village the distinction of "the first ancient village in Tai Lake."

Admission: 50 yuan

How to get there: 1. Take No. 502 bus at Suzhou railway station and get off at Dongshan stop, change there for No. 500 bus;

                           2. Take No. 62 bus Suzhou south station and get off at Dongshan stop, change there for No. 500 bus;

                           3. Drive along Hubin Avenue or Dongshan Avenue to get to the village.

Tips: 1. Both hotels and farmhouses available in the village;

         2. Orange-picking available here, 10 yuan for 2.5 kg;

         3. It opens from 9am to 9pm.
