Qingdao wine expo to open in June, 2012

The third annual Qingdao International Wine Fair is slated to open at Qingdao's International Exhibition Center on June 1, 2012, to host the world's top wine manufacturers and distributors. The fair is expected to showcase thousands of wines manufactured by world renowned brands in its 18,000 square meters display area in three days. The fair will include wine summits attended by respected wine critics and participating exhibitors, Activities include taste tests, promotions, auctions and debuts of new products. The organizing committee plans to invite 25,000 industry professionals from Japan, South Korea, Russia and China. Qingdao's wine history can be traced back to 1912, when German merchant Crocker founded the city's first winery. The city has also built a wine museum and a wine commercial zone to promote the local wine culture.
