Hainan Airlines Shenzhen Branch was officially opened on the same day as the HNA Group signed a strategic cooperative agreement with the Shenzhen municipal government.
Under the agreement, Hainan Airlines will base 50 aircraft in Shenzhen in five years time when the second runway of Shenzhen Airport is finished. Grand China Logistics Group, which is part of the HNA Group, will also develop its business by adding two 737 cargo aircraft and a 747 cargo aircraft.
Currently Hainan Airlines has ten Boeing 737 passenger aircraft and three cargo aircraft based in Shenzhen with a total of 25 routes and 165 flights weekly, representing 8% of Shenzhen's aviation market.
