At the Guanyin Culture & Zhoushan-Taiwan Tourism Cooperation Conference, the Zhoushan Tourism Association signed a cooperative agreement with the Taiwan Cross-Strait Business & Travel Shipping Association.

Zhoushan Port is one of the first 63 direct navigation destinations to Taiwan from mainland China. Shenjiamen Port at Ningbo-Zhoushan had also become a direct navigation destination in May 2009. Zhoushan is planning luxury cruises to Taiwan from Shenjiamen, and also several tourist routes especially designed for Taiwan tourists.

Under the cooperation agreement, the two associations will exchange experiences in tourist product design and market development. Taiwan will introduce local tourism talents into Zhoushan and promote Zhoushan's tourist products to all Taiwanese.
