From the latter half of February to the middle of June this year, Jiangsu province will run a tourism campaign and send about 10,000 tourists to Taiwan.
According to Tang Jianguo from Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Bureau, the campaign will be run by China Travel Service Jiangsu and China International Travel Service Suzhou. In addition, the province will hold a series of activities targeting Taiwan, such as inviting Taiwan's tourism professionals to visit Jiangsu for the mid-autumn festival and arranging study tours and exchanges between tourism schools of the two regions.
The campaign is said to focus on low prices, which according to Yang Qilong from CTS Jiangsu, mainly results from the shortening of travel time between Taiwan and Jiangsu and an agreement between the mainland travel agencies and concerned parties in Taiwan.
In addition to the low prices, tourists involved in the campaign will also be provided with accident insurance.
