The Shanghai Happy Valley amusement park will open on July 28 next year in Songjiang District. The cost of admission will be about 200 yuan (US$28) - 20 to 30 yuan more than the Shenzhen and Beijing parks.

The price was based on local market conditions, said the Shenzhen-based OCT Group, the park's developer.

The group has invested more than 4 billion yuan in the park that will occupy more than 90 hectares. It will be the biggest amusement park in Shanghai, about 10 times the size of the Jinjiang Amusement Park.
