Famous boutique resort chain Amanresorts has opened its first resort in China, The Aman at Summer Palace, located near the east gate of the Summer Palace in Beijing.
Once a retreat for the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) emperors and their entourages, The Aman at Summer Palace offers a glimpse of imperial life of China. The resort provides 51 guest rooms and suites in traditional Chinese courtyards as well as a selection of dining options of both Chinese and Western cuisine.
The Aman at Summer Palace is the Amanresorts's 19th property and the first one in a city. Founded in 1988 with a vision of a collection of intimate retreats in beautiful surroundings, Amanresorts have opened in such places as Phuket in Thailand, Siem Reap in Cambodia, and Bora Bora in French Polynesia.
