Road surfaces were painted red and green near three bus stops and two taxi stands around Jing'an Temple in Shanghai's Jing'an District to make them more visible.

The trial along Nanjing Road W. will be expanded across the whole city if it is well received by passengers, Oriental Morning Post reported Wednesday.

Each painted area is 30 meters long and three meters wide. In the red sections there is also a yellow bus to indicate it is a special area for buses to stop.

One painted bus stop is in front of Jing'an Temple and the other one is across the street. The third bus stop is opposite Plaza 66, also on Nanjing Road, the report said.

Two painted taxi stands are on Nanjing Road near Qinghai Road and Huashan Road, the report said.
