Workers build the plank road for visitors to climb up to the ancient city in the far west of Inner Mongolia on October 7, 2008. "Black Water City", located in the Gobi desert in the far west of Inner Mongolia, is under restoration recently. It was a major military outpost of the Western Xia regime (1038-1227) until it was captured by Genghis Khan in 1226.
