Above are some photos published by pconline.com.cn from a
contributing photographer named 树叶ab. These pictures, taken on
January 19, 2008, depict the scenes of the ice-rimmed trees on the
Wusong Island in northeast China's Jilin City.
The Wusong Island in Jilin
Wusong Island is located in Tuchengzi County, Changyi district of
Jilin Province. The island lies quietly in the mid section of
Songhua River, occupying an area of approximately 0.25 square
kilometers. The marvelous scenery of the island shows in the
winter. When winter approaches, branches of the willow trees were
covered with glitter ice. With the sun shining, the whole tree
looks like a crystal statue.
Wusong Island is famous for its fabulous ice-covered willow and
thousands of swan goose in winter. The island has become a famous
scenic spot of Jilin City during winter season. Skiing, winter
swimming and other entertainments are available to tourists.
