Portugal is celebrating its Pavilion Day at the Shanghai World Expo. The venue's theme is "A Plaza to the World".

The facade and interior walls are lined with recyclable, eco-friendly cork. Four sections tell the country's history, culture, economy and people's life, as well as Portugal's history with China. The highlight is a movie that showcases the country's 500-year history of "encounters". A plaza called Portugal Today consisting of cafe, wine tasting and culinary areas awaits visitors at the end of the tour. Portuguese bands and singers are expected to hold two concerts for the occasion.
