Bilingual book on World Expo tributes released

The Chinese-English bilingual book "Expo Tributes from 100 Eminent Voices" was released at Shanghai Book City Saturday.

The book contains articles by 100 prominent personages from across the world, commenting on the on-going 2010 World Expo. They include late International Olympic Committee President Juan Antonio Samaranch, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and late Chinese scholar Ji Xianlin. Yu Zhengsheng, secretary of the Shanghai Committee of the Communist Party of China, wrote a preface for the book.

Yang Zhenwu, minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanghai Committee, presided over a ceremony marking the release of the book.

Song Chao, deputy minister of the Publicity Department and director-general of the Shanghai Municipal Information Office, Ye Shuhua, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and representatives of the authors attended the ceremony.

The book was compiled by the Shanghai Municipal Information Office.

Other contributors to the book include Quincy Jones, a well-known composer and musician and Samuel Chao Chung Ting, a Nobel Physics Prize laureate in 1976.
