Founded in 1949, the performance has been epitomizing the joy and pride of a nation that strongly values its independence.

Talented dancers, singers and musicians bring centuries of tradition back to life, in swirling, spectacular performances. It's a vivid "living museum" that features more than 12 hundred costumes, some more than 100 years old.

Famous Croatian pianist Maksim Mrvica has held a solo concert which includes his famed repertoire of "Croatian Rhapsody" at the Expo Center. He also played the theme song at the opening of the Athens Olympics in 2004.

The Republic of Croatia is located in central and southeastern Europe. It's largest city Zagreb is also its capital. After World War Two, Croatia was a founding member of the Second Yugoslav Republic. In June of 1991, Croatia declared independence and became a sovereign state. China established diplomatic relations with Croatia in May of 1992.
