The Multi-Generational Centers is a sample case of Parent-Child Centre Stuttgart-West Association. In the center, kindergarten, youth club and senior citizen's social clubs are brought together in a new form under one roof: there multi-generational centers create open meeting places for the residents of their quarters, where people can gather and make contact with others of different generations and cultures in an informal setting.

Permanent employees and volunteers are on hand to help both young and old to cope with the challenges of their everyday lives. Actually, the center is just one of the new ideas and creations displayed in the Germany Pavilion.

Named "Balancity", the three-dimensional sculpture of Germany pavilion will present a city in balance between renewal and preservation, innovation and tradition, urbanity an nature, society and its individuals, work and recreation, and between globalization and national identity.

In this pavilion, visitors will witness the solutions Germany raised to cope with the problems merged in the city lives. For example, the silver membrane used as the exterior of the building is the lightweight transmitting material with high reflectance, and the costume for the staff members were made of degradable cloth.

After visiting the Germany Pavilion, Zhang said she preferred this pavilion to the USA Pavilion and Russia Pavilion. "I think it efficiently defined the theme of balancity. I wish more and more exhibits here become reality."
