3. Don't buy products that are excessively wrapped in packaging. A total of 3.5 kg of carbon emissions are created for every 1 kg of packaging.

4. Don't wear clothes that use synthetic fibers such as polyester. Cotton clothes are more comfortable anyway, and you may discover that your wardrobe will have a new appeal if you eliminate your synthetic clothing.

5. Don't eat too much meat. If you do, you hurt at least three objects -- animals, the earth and yourself. You should know that 1 kg of meat produces 36.4 kg of carbon dioxide during breeding, transporting and processing.

6. An ancient Chinese proverb says:"Every grain of good for our meal comes from hard toil."One should restrain oneself from eating a sumptuous wasteful meal. Economizing your meals contributes to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.

7.Furniture made of exotic woods such as red sandalwood is unnecessary, and contributes to deforestation and global warming. Why not try bamboo furniture? After all, bamboo grows faster than trees.

8. A luxurious wedding ceremony is not necessarily the key to happiness. Having a simple and environment-friendly wedding shows that you care about the environment as much as your partner.

9. Don't keep appliances in"ready"mode. Pull out the plug when appliances are not in use. This can reduce electricity consumption by 40 percent.

10. Why bother paying for an expensive gym membership when you can just go for a run in the park? That's right: those exercise machines in the gym use electricity, and a lot of it at that. Even if you prefer to just stay home, it doesn't hurt to go out to the park every once in a while, as this will reduce the amount of electricity that you use at home.
