Although the Egypt Pavilion won't hold its official opening until Tuesday, some Expo visitors can't wait to see a portion of its national treasures. Let's see what was shown at preview.
The modern design of the facade can't conceal the fact that the country belongs to one of oldest civilizations of the world.
Visitors waited in a long line, to marvel at the six national treasures shown inside the pavilion. The exhibition of the relics are accompanied by videos, informing visitors about the long standing history of the country in the northeast border of Africa.
It's another pavilion that enrolls history into the avant-guard design. But the real attractions are the relics. Six pieces, out of the total eight that will be shown after the official opening ceremony, have been unveiled. These include a necklace belonging to an ancient queen some 3500 years ago, a stone sculpture of a king and queen created in 2050 BC, the Hathor Column, and three other stone sculptures made around 2000 BC. All the relics are being lent from Cairo Museum.
Audience Member, said, "I can't express my feelings, seeing these national treasures of Egypt up close with my own eyes, and without traveling outside of China."
For the sake of protecting the relics, only thirty visitors will be allowed in at one time.
