France Pavilion:
France Pavilion will exhibit seven oil paintings from Musee d’Orsay. It also has a place for couples to hold wedding ceremonies, which will be presided over by Jean Germain, the mayor of Tours.
Spain Pavilion:
Spain Pavilion has a steel structure and a wicker cover. The wicker is woven into Chinese characters that together make a Chinese poem.
Poland Pavilion:
Poland Pavilion is designed as a concert hall in honor of the 200th anniversary of the great Polish composer Frederic Chopin. The pavilion will host a concert every day, with 100 musicians playing Chopin’s compositions.
Finland Pavilion:
Finland Pavilion has the only sauna at the Expo. The kettle-shaped pavilion is surrounded with rocks and streams, representing the beauty of the country.
Performances: Thousands of performances, including concerts, operas, dramas, symphonies and ballets, will be staged during the World Expo. Visitors can enjoy Cirque du Soleil from Canada, samba from Brazil, the tango from Argentina and Nepal’s singing and dancing.
Expo Culture Center:
Expo organizers have announced performances by Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli, two of the world’s most prominent tenors. People will also be able to catch the English National Ballet’s Swan Lake.
Shipyard (Chuanwu) Theater and Abilia:
Renovated from an old shipyard in the Expo area, the theater will stage puppet shows, shadow plays and dramas for children. Children can also experience being part of the working class in Abilia, acting as reporters, tour guides, policemen and bankers.
Food: A street running between the Expo Center and the theme pavilions has vendors selling Chinese cuisines.
