Lhasa residents will be able to use mobile phone tickets Expo from April to the Shanghai 2010 Expo, which will kick off on May 1, according to the China Mobile Tibet Branch (CMTB).
Such a ticket is actually a short message saved in the SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card, which can be read and identified by an automatic entrance ticket examining device of the expo park.
With such tickets, visitors will only have to swipe their mobile phones on the devices before entering the park.
The world expo introduces mobile phone tickets for the first time, said Gao Xianqiang, general manager of the branch's Marketing Department.
Visitors can use such digital tickets to enjoy card-swiping consumption, as well as information services in the park, including data-inquiry, ticket-checking and commemorative tickets claim, Gao noted.
These tickets can be booked in such ways as in the CMTB business offices in downtown and western suburbs of Lhasa, calling 12580, loading WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) or registering through STK (satellite tool kit) menu.
