Christie's Hong Kong Fall 2008 Auction will take place from November 29 to December 3 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
It features 16 sales across a wide array of collecting categories, ranging from traditional works of art and classical paintings to cutting-edge contemporary art from South Korea, Japan, China, India and throughout Southeast Asia, as well as magnificent jewels and watches.
As usual, the big names of Chinese contemporary art, such as Zeng Fanzhi and Zhang Xiaogang, are on the list.
Two paintings from Liu Ye, a Beijing artist with a superb painting technique, will go under hammer. Liu is not particularly prolific, so it is rare to see his latest paintings.
Among the many star lots in the "Important Watches" sale is a rare Petek Philippe piece (Ref.5071 G), the only haute joaillerie timepiece in Philippe's stable of men's watches estimated to fetch around US$180,000-230,000.
The sale also features an exquisite selection of extraordinary jewels across a spectrum of taste and style, from Edwardian period masterpieces and contemporary creations, to the rarest of colored and colorless diamonds and important gemstones.
Among the many highlights is the return of Christie's wine sales to Asia with an unrivalled collection of Chateau Latour.
