Nanping Ditty is a form of folk music popular in Jiuzhai County (formerly Nanping County) of northwestern Sichuan Province. Villagers gather to sing melodies with self-accompaniment on various subjects, including love, farming and historical legends. Nanping Ditty was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in June 2008. [Photo provided to China.org.cn]
