Yinchuan International Auto Show, a nine-day event co-organized by the Automotive Industry Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Yinchuan Municipal Government of Ningxia, ended on August 3.
The event attracted 220,000 visitors and closed 4480 car deals worth a total of 697 million yuan (US$ 113.1 million) in the midst of industry-wide lackluster sales, according to statistics released by the organizing committee.
“The sales are quite good in this year’s show thanks to the favorable prices,” said Shi Yuan, a marketing director at Dongfeng Peugeot. “We have already sold 270 cars, excluding the sales on the last day.”
In addition to showcasing different car models from various brands, the event also featured more activities to increase visitor interaction, like an auto show photography competition, Lucky Draw, test driving and the Automobile Forum.
