The 2013 Ningxia Scientific Activity Week kicked off May 18 in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

With its focus on “Scientific Activity for a Better Life,” the event organizers hope to promote the use of science in everyday life through digital libraries, network information training, a youth model airplane competition and agricultural lectures.

The event’s opening ceremony included scientific films and an exhibition of new technologies related to food safety, health, lifestyle, environmental protection, resource conservation and other hot-button issues.
