The 11th China Yinchuan Stone Appreciation Festival kicked off May 30 at the Forest Park Square in Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Vendors at the festival, which aimed to “[promote] stone appreciation culture and [display] highland charm,” installed 300 booths, displaying everything from Uruguayan blue agate to South African rubies.
Li Fengguo, a stone salesman from the Shandong Province attending the festival for the third time who brought 30 pieces of malachite to display was pleased with this year’s offerings. “It is the first time for the festival to exhibit malachite on such a large scale,” he said.
