The world's largest smart photovoltaic power station, which yields 30 megawatts power in full capacity, had supplied 5 million kilowatt-hour powers to Ningxia Grid as of Jan. 30, 2012.
Designed and built by China ENFI Engineering Corp., the station adopts the company's intelligent linkage tracking system, which allows 24-hour tracking of solar power and increases power yields by 25 percent, said Wang Hua, a monitoring center technician with the station.
Wang added that the station will generate 270 million kilowatt-hour more in power generation during a 25-year lifespan, which translates to the reduction of carbon emission by 1.3 million tons.
The station is located in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region's Zhongwei City, one of the areas blessed with rich solar resources. With a 600 million yuan (US$95 million) investment from ENFI, the 7-people staffed station registers more than 60 million yuan of annual production value.
