An energy cooperation workshop was held Thursday during the 2nd China-Arab States Economic and Trade Forum in Yinchuan. Representatives from China and Arab states held detailed discussions on energy cooperation plans, as well as the building of a large oil reserve and an oil refining base in western China.
Representatives also discussed issues such as two-way investment in energy logistics and energy construction projects, the integration of energy and business and the foundation and risk control of the energy industry fund. At the workshop, representatives focused on the so-called "Energy Golden Triangle" - Ningxia, Erdos in Inner Mongolia and Yulin in Shaanxi, where there is abundant coal, petroleum and natural gas respectively.
During the Twelfth-five year plan, Ningxia will strengthen cooperation with other regions aided by the support of central government. Furthermore, Ningxia will speed up coal mine base construction and the development of new energy, energy saving and emission reductions, as well as ecological construction projects. China and Arab states see the stable and sustainable development of both traditional and new energy industries as in their best interests, as both industries continue to influence global economic and social development.
