Chinese halal food bound for Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Qatar will be free from certificate from the three countries after being certified by the Ningxia Halal Food Certificate Authority, according to a mutual recognition agreement on halal food standards signed Wednesday.

In addition to the three countries, Ningxia has agreements with Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand, making Ningxia a hub for Sino-Arab halal food trade in China.

More than 50 Chinese halal food and Muslim commodities suppliers have passed the certification by the Authority, the only official domestic institute in charge of international halal food certification, a manager with the Authority said.
