Sino-Arab universities seek closer ties | |||

Hundreds of university presidents and representatives from China and Arab states signed the "Yinchuan Declaration" to enhance exchanges and cooperation between universities of the two sides during the Sino-Arab University Presidents Forum that opened in Ningxia's capital city Yinchuan on Sept. 20. Sponsored by the Ministry of Education of China and Ningxia government, the forum discussed issues on the direction and model for the teaching and academic cooperation between Chinese and Arabic universities and ways to promote interchanges between Sino-Arab college students. The forum participants have reached a consensus that Chinese and Arabic universities have made some achievements in talent training and inter-collegial exchanges. The "Yinchuan Declaration" calls on hosting the forum in Yinchuan every two years in a bid to keep continuous exchanges between Chinese and Arab universities. Universities of the two sides pledge to establish a more positive inter-collegial connections including professor exchanges, student exchanges, Chinese and Arabic translator trainings, and Sino-Arab cultural researches.
