In recent years, investment in Ningxia has increased from 8.7 billion yuan ($1.36 billion USD) to 317.7 billion yuan ($49.72 billion USD) with an average annual growth of 40 percent, according to Investment Bureau of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Ningxia boasts investment from 20 of China's Top 500 enterprises, along with 11 global Top 500 enterprises. The government has carried out 289 projects, each worth 1 billion yuan ($156.5 million USD), accounting for 35.6 percent of the total number of projects.

Wang Jing, director of Ningxia Investment Bureau said that Ningxia's government focuses on continually perfecting its investment supervision system, thereby changing from a "blind investment" style to "industry investment."
