More than 400 volunteers emerge from over three months of the selection process for the upcoming China-Arab States Economic and Trade Forum in Yinchuan, a senior official with the youth league committee of Ningxia said on Sept. 7.

Zhou Limei, director of the volunteer department at the Youth League Committee of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, said the committee launched the campaign in the region to recruit volunteers for various positions of the event including reception, translation, emergency services, traffic directing and promotions of the event.

Most of the volunteers are college students in the region, and more than 90 percent of them have a good command of English and Arabic.

The China-Arab States Economic and Trade Forum, which is slated to open on Sept. 21, will serve as a platform of exchange for officials, entrepreneurs and scholars from the two regions.
